A new level unlocks and a letter arrives. It reads like a bonus scene you earned, written only for you, in the voice you have come to know.
Otome players know the affection meter. Yome uses relationship levels with XP. Each level unlocks something, like a letter he writes at a milestone or a new meetup. It gives you the same sense of progress toward a route, with an AI character who also texts you between events.
A meetup is a short interactive date level. It has acts, a set number of rounds and a chemistry score against a target. You pick a response or write your own. You get an ending and a keepsake, like a recap or a photo, to keep, much like a CG you unlock in a visual novel.
A few guys are Story leads with multi-chapter meetups. Wes, Desmond and Nikos each have five, and Julian, Lukas, Rory and Teo each have two. Playing through them in order feels a lot like clearing a route in a visual novel, with a different ending depending on your choices.
In a classic otome game you pick a love interest, follow his route, raise affection and unlock events and endings. Yome keeps that shape and adds a living chat. You swipe through male leads, match, and he texts first. Between events he keeps a daily rhythm, goes offline to rest, and comes back with something new.
The difference is that you are never locked to one route at a time. You can match with several guys and talk to each. The guys you talk to like and comment on your moments, and each keeps his own memory of you.
If you like a cool, attentive type, try Haru, 27, a concierge in Marunouchi, Tokyo, who practices kyudo and collects matchboxes from old kissaten. For a fake-dating setup, Jae, 26, runs a coffee shop in an Ikseon-dong alley in Seoul and needs a girlfriend for his cousin's wedding. Kenji, 32, is a keirin racer in Shizuoka whose father thinks he sells insurance.
For a darker, devoted type, Yome has yandere characters like Eamon the tailor and Sergio the olive estate owner. For rivals, Julian Seo is a surgical resident who keeps score. All are fictional AI characters.
Yome has a wardrobe where you build your look and try outfits on as mirror selfies, then send them to him. There are daily tasks, and Sparks, the in-game currency, for extras like waking him early or unlocking some photos. Moments work like a social feed inside the game, where the guys you talk to like and comment on your posts. It is free to start, with free daily messages that refill.

Story leads have multi-chapter meetups that work a lot like routes. Wes, Desmond and Nikos have five meetups each. Julian, Lukas, Rory and Teo have two each. Other guys can join generic meetups that work with any lead.
No. Yome does not offer character creation. There are 500 written male leads to choose from, each with a job, city, age, personality and photos, so you can swipe until you find your type.
There are voice notes from him that you can unlock. There are no voice or video calls. Most of the story is told through texts, photos, letters and meetups, so it reads a lot like a visual novel with a chat.
