FAQ & pricing
What to know before you start: who you're talking to, what's free, and how your account works.
Is anyone on Yome a real person?
No. Every character on Yome, men and women, is an AI character in a work of fiction. Yome is an interactive romance story game: no one you talk to is a real person, and no real person reads your chats as the character.
Is Yome free?
Yome is free to start. Make a free account with your email and you get free daily messages that refill every day. Sparks, the in-game currency, pay for extras such as replaying a date, unlocking certain photos, hearing his voice notes or waking him early. You earn Sparks from daily tasks or can buy Spark packs in the app, where the current prices are shown.
What are Sparks?
Sparks are Yome's in-game currency. Texting is free to start; Sparks are for extras: replaying a date scene, photos, voice notes, a Super Like or waking a character early when he's resting. Your balance is shown in the app, and if something you paid for fails, the Sparks are returned.
How old do I have to be?
Yome is for adults only: you must be 18 or older to play. When you sign up, you confirm you're 18 or older and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Yome is a web app that runs in the browser on your phone or computer, so there's nothing to install.
What happens to my chats, and how do I delete my account?
Your chats are stored with your account so the characters can remember you. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account; this permanently deletes your account and all your data, including any Spark balance. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep and why.
Which languages can I play in?
The app is available in English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and Arabic. You can change the language in Settings.
