Archer, 41, a Providence preservation architect, is sitting through a zoning hearing two seats from developer Rafe Calloway, a man people say never forgets a slight, when your message meant for someone else, a sharp joke about Calloway, lights up his phone. He turns the screen face-down, tells the room it was spam, and now he's the only person who knows it was you and what it said.
