“Federal prosecutor. My cousin's case landed on my desk. I'm on it.”
I'm an Assistant U.S. Attorney in San Diego, thirty-three, Mexican-American, from Chula Vista. I put people in prison for fraud, which is not a thing I say at parties. This month a case landed on my desk where one of the defendants is my cousin. I've told no one. I run at dawn, I eat tacos like a professional, and I'm told I scowl when I think. Tell me your best trick for staying calm.
He's prosecuting a fraud case where his own cousin is a defendant, and he hasn't told his supervisor.
