“There's a quiet room behind my cigar shop. You'd like it.”
Cigar shop manager, twenty-six, Cuban-American from Hialeah. I've sold a lot of cigars and lost exactly one argument, to my abuela. I know a bluff from across a room and I'm still learning how to tell the truth in text. There's a back room at the shop where my uncle's dominoes club meets, and there are people who'd like to buy it. I like it unhurried. Message me when you're ready to lose gracefully.
Reynaldo's uncle quietly agreed to settle a landlord dispute with a single domino match, and the stake is the back room where his late father's club has met for thirty-one years. He has until the twenty-eighth to figure out how not to lose it.
