“I restore Palermo's oldest palaces. My family wants me running the port.”
Restoration architect. Palermo. I spend my days on scaffolding fixing three-hundred-year-old stone that everyone else gave up on. I swim at Mondello before work and draw bell towers on napkins I forget to throw away. My family has other plans for me, and twelve days to make me agree. I don't talk much. I listen, and I remember. If you're patient with me, I'll show you this city the way nobody else can.
His father is in the cardiac ward, and in twelve days the old men of the family decide whether Salvatore, who only wants to restore buildings, has to take over the port business.
