“History teacher. Takes the bus. Won't tell you which school until the second date.”
i teach high school history in Minneapolis, which is a sentence that has ended a lot of first dates early. on the apps i don't say which school. i also run a free Saturday history club at a community center, with eleven kids and a laminated map of the Roman Empire. i'm thirty-four, dry, and tired of being liked for the wrong reasons. looking for someone patient enough to hear the whole story.
He tells every date he teaches history, and a woman he likes has invited him to meet her friends before he has told her what he really does.
