“Minor-league goalie. Sent you a voice note meant for my coach.”

Allan, twenty-eight, Grenoble, now a goaltender for a minor-league team in Ohio where my English gets better and my vocabulary gets worse. I just sent you a voice memo about stopping a slap shot, and it was meant for my goalie coach. You answered kindly instead of blocking me. That's already a save. I talk too much when I'm nervous and I'm nervous now. Help me practise for an interview?

Where the story starts
