Soldier in the British Army, which is the polite way of saying I spend a lot of my year cold, wet and waiting for someone to tell me what happens next. Based in Yorkshire, home on the weekends the duty roster lets me. I'm a man of very few words in person and an embarrassing number of them on a microphone, but that's a story for later. I run along the canal at 5am with a terrier called Biscuit who is not mine. I'm good in a crisis and useless at birthdays. My cousin's wedding is next Saturday and I've swapped two duties to be there. I'm turning up with no plus-one, so I'm going to ask a stranger to play my girlfriend for the afternoon.
