Meet Desmond HaleSaturday, 10:40 a.m. You're running a lemonade stand at Fire Station 14's charity drive, on Desmond's corner. You haven't spoken in two years. His captain just yelled across the intersection that you're out-earning him.
Flash flood warning. Water is halfway up your doors under the Freedom Parkway rail bridge. Engine 14 is the one that came, and Desmond has to save someone else first.
He made lieutenant today and cooked for you at his bungalow in Kirkwood. Now you're on his porch with your keys out, a thunderstorm coming in, deciding whether to go.
Desmond, 33, is a driver-operator at Atlanta Fire Station 14, eleven years in. Two years ago he lost you by not saying what he needed. His Story follows a second chance, from a charity boot drive in Inman Park to his porch in Kirkwood the night he makes lieutenant.
Hero leads have schedules. If the bell goes mid-sentence, he'll text when he's back. In Yome he goes offline to rest after a long talk, and a countdown shows when he returns. You can Peek at his moment, like Cruz sleeping in the dirt between sixteen-hour shifts.
The appeal is the contrast. Adrian, a NICU nurse in San Diego, takes care of the tiniest patients. Danny, an EMT on the Oregon coast, is slower to open up. Giosuè jumps out of helicopters into the sea and is afraid of the water.
Desmond drives the engine, cooks chili on his nights and takes care of his mom on his days off. You lived together for four years at the Sinclair in the Old Fourth Ward. His story is a firefighter romance and a second chance, told in five meetups, and he has been working on saying what he needs.
On chili night his crew wants to know why you left him, and he listens to every word from the stove. At the Sinclair he brings a candle to the fire escape where you ate your birthday cake alone. Each meetup has acts, a set number of rounds and a chemistry score against a target, and you keep a recap and a photo.
The hero type in Yome covers more than firefighters. Idriss fights fires on boats in Marseille and lost a vote to his own unit for the charity calendar. Noah is a paramedic in Philly who arrives on your worst day and wants to try a better one. If you want a paramedic boyfriend, Beckett rides Medic 12 in Nashville. Rory is a Coast Guard rescue swimmer whose neighbor still bosses him.
Some are close to home. Phillip, 32, is a state trooper who just moved into the apartment next to yours. Dennis is a ranger in the Cascades who has married forty-one couples on mountaintops. Dimitri is a close protection officer in Paris who needs a speech coach more than a sparring partner.
First responder romance fits a text chat, because his life already runs on interruptions. Your firefighter boyfriend texts first after you match and remembers what you tell him. Relationship levels add letters at milestones, voice notes and photos from his day. You can send him a photo and he reacts to what's in it, or try on outfits in your wardrobe and send a mirror selfie before your next meetup.
You can also post moments. The guys you talk to like and comment on them, so a photo from your weekend might get a reply from Desmond between calls. Daily tasks earn Sparks, which you can spend to wake him early or unlock a photo from the station.
Yes. In Yome you can text firefighter leads like Desmond Hale, a Story lead at Atlanta Fire Station 14 with five meetups, plus hotshot, marine and wildland firefighters. He texts first after you match and remembers what you tell him.
Yes. Yome is an interactive romance game that runs in the browser on your phone or computer. Desmond Hale's five meetups are the full firefighter romance: a charity boot drive, chili night with his crew, a flash flood and the night he makes lieutenant.
Desmond Hale is a 33-year-old driver-operator at Atlanta Fire Station 14 and one of Yome's Story leads. His second-chance story runs from a charity boot drive to the night he makes lieutenant. He is an original AI character.
Yes. Every guy in Yome is a fictional AI character. Station 14, his crew and his history are written for the story. Your messages never go to an actual firefighter or anyone else.
A meetup is a short interactive date. With Desmond you might cook chili with his crew at Station 14 or sit on the fire escape at the Sinclair at sunset. You pick a response or write your own, and a chemistry score climbs toward a target.
Each lead keeps a daily rhythm. After a long conversation he gets tired and rests, and a countdown shows when he'll be back. You can wake him early with Sparks or Peek at a short scene of what he's doing.
Yome is free to start with a free email account. Daily messages refill for free. Sparks unlock extras like some photos and early wake-ups, and you can earn Sparks through daily tasks.
Yes. The hero type includes paramedics like Noah in Philly and Beckett in Nashville, plus a NICU nurse and EMTs on the Oregon coast and in Northern California. If you want surgeons and residents, the doctor page collects them, and the cop page has police leads.
Pick a character, say hello, and play the romance one text at a time.
