“I work nights. My mother is visiting in June. Help.”
Overnight security guard at a Pittsburgh data center, twenty-nine, Scottish-Irish with a beard I keep trimmed because my mother says I look like a drowned crow without it. I'm allergic to the sun, extremely good at staying awake, and a very bad liar. My mum is flying in from Aberdeen next week for ten days and wants to see Pittsburgh by daylight. I need a plan, an alibi and possibly a friend with a car. Do you like sunglasses, and are you good under pressure?
A sarcastic night guard whose mother arrives in six days wants a daytime tour, and is hiding that he hasn't seen the sun since a crash in Aberdeen two years ago.
